2 The Prophet is commanded to bewaile Pharaoh King of Egypt. 12 He prophecieth that deſtruction ſhal come vnto Egypt through the King of Babylon.

1.ANd in y^e ^atwelfth yere in the twelfth moneth, & in the firſt day of the moneth, the worde of the Lord came vnto me, ſaying,

2.Sonne of man, take vp a lamentacion for Pharaóh King of Egypt, & ſay vnto him, Thou art like a ^blyon of the nations & art as a ^"dragon in the ſea: thou caſteſt out thy riuers ^cand troubleſt the waters with thy fete, and ſtampeſt in their riuers.

3.Thus ſaith the Lord God, ^*I wil therefore ſpread my net ouer thee with a great multitude of people, & thei ſhal make thee come vp into my net.

4.Then wil I leaue thee vpon the land, & I wil caſt thee vpon the open field, & I wil cauſe all the foules of the heauē to remaine vpon thee, and I wil fil all the beaſts of the field with thee.

5.And I wil laye thy fleſh vpon the mountaines, & fil the valleis ^dwith thine height.

6.I wil alſo water with thy blood the land, wherein thou ^eſwimmeſt, euen to the mountaines, and the riuers ſhalbe full of thee.

7.And when I ſhal ^fput thee out, I wil couer the heauen, and make the ſtarres thereof darke: ^*I wil couer the ſunne with a cloude, and the moone ſhal not giue her light.

8.All the lights of heauen wil I make darke for thee, and bring ^gdarkenes vpon thy land, ſaith the Lord God.

9.I wil alſo trouble the hearts of many people, when I ſhal bring thy deſtruction among the nacions, and vpon the countreis which thou haſt not knowen.

10.Yea, I wil make many people amaſed at thee, & their Kings ſhalbe aſtoniſhed with feare for thee, when I ſhal make my ſworde to glitter againſt their faces, & thei ſhal be afraied at euery moment: euery man for his owne life in the day of thy fall.

11.For thus ſaith the Lord God, The ſworde of the King of Babél ſhal come vpō thee.

12.By the ſwordes of the mightie wil I cauſe thy multitude to fall: they all ſhalbe terrible nacions, and they ſhal deſtroye the ^hpompe of Egypt, and all the multitude thereof ſhalbe conſumed.

13.I wil deſtroye alſo all the beaſts thereof from the great waterſides, nether ſhal the fote of man trouble them any more, nor the houes of beaſt trouble them.

14.Then wil I make ⁱtheir waters depe, and cauſe their riuers to runne like oyle, ſaith the Lord God.

15.When I ſhal make the land of Egypt deſolate, and the countrey with all that is therein, ſhalbe laied waſt: when I ſhal ſmite all them, which dwell therein, then ſhal thei knowe, that I am the Lord.

16.This is the mourning wherwith they ſhal lament her: the daughters of the nacions ſhal lament her: thei ſhal lament for Egypt, and for all her multitude, ſaith the Lord God.

17.¶ In the twelfth yere alſo in the fiftenth day of the moneth, came the worde of the Lord vnto me, ſaying,

18.Sonne of man, lament for the multitude of Egypt, and ^kcaſt them downe, euen thē and the daughters of the mightie nations vnto the nether partes of the earth, with them that go downe into the pit.

19.Whome doeſt thou paſſe ^lin beautie? go downe and ſlepe with the vncircumciſed.

20.Thei ſhal fall in the middes of them that are ſlayne by y^e ſworde: ^mſhe is deliuered to the ſworde: drawe her downe, & all her multitude.

21.The moſte ⁿmighty & ſtrōg ſhal ſpeake to her out of the middes of hel with them y^t helpe her: they are gone downe and ſlepe with the vncircumciſed that be ſlayne by y^e ſworde.

22.Aſſhúr is there & all his companie: their graues are about him: all they are ſlayne and fallen by the ſworde.

23.Whoſe graues are made in the ſide of the pit, & his multitude are rounde about his graue: all they are ſlaine and fallen by the ſworde, which cauſed feare to be in the land of the liuing.

24.There is ^oElám and all his multitude rounde about his graue: all they are ſlaine and fallen by the ſworde w^c are gone downe with the vncircumciſed into the nether partes of the earth, which cauſed the ſelues to be feared in the land of the ^pliuing, yet haue they borne their ſhame with thē that are gone downe to the pit.

25.Thei haue made his bed in the middes of the ſlaine with all his multitude: their graues are rounde about him: all theſe vncircūciſed are ſlaine by the ſworde: thogh thei haue cauſed their feare in the land of the liuing, yet haue thei borne their ſhame with them that go downe to the pit: thei are laide in the middes of them, that be ſlaine.

26.There ^qis Meſhéch, Tubál, & all their multitude: their graues ^aare rounde about them: all theſe vncircumciſed were ſlaine by the ſworde, thogh thei cauſed their feare to be in the land of the liuing.

27.And thei ſhal not lye with the valiant ^rof the vncircumciſed, that are fallen, which are gone downe to the graue, with their weapons of warre, and haue layed their ſwordes vnder their heads, but their iniquitie ſhalbe vpõ their bones: becauſe thei were yͤ feare of the mightie in the lãd of the liuing.

28.Yea, thou ſhalt be broken in the middes of the vncircumciſed, and lye with them that are ſlaine by the ſworde.

29.There is Edóm, his Kings, and all his princes, which with their ſtrength are laied by them that were ſlaine by the ſworde: they ſhal ſlepe with the vncircumciſed, and with them that go downe to the pit.

30.There be all the princes of the ^sNorth, with all the Zidonians, which are gone downe with the ſlaine, with their feare: thei are aſhamed of their ſtrength, and the vncircumciſed ſlepe with them that be ſlaine by the ſworde, and beare their ſhame with them that go downe to the pit.

31.Pharaóh ſhal ſe thẽ, and he ſhalbe ^tcomforted ouer all his multitude: Pharaóh, & ali his armie ſhalbe ſlaine by the ſworde, ſaith the Lord God.

32.For I haue cauſed my ^ufeare to be in the land of the liuing: and he ſhalbe laid in the middes of the vncircumciſed with them, that are ſlaine by the ſworde, euen Pharaóh and all his multitude, ſaith the Lord God.
