Ezekiel 3

The Prophet being fed with the worde of God and with the constant boldnes of the Spirit, is sent vnto the people that were in captiuitie. 17 The office of true ministers.
.M Oreouer he ſaid vnto me, Sonne of mã, eate that thou findeſt: eate this rolle, and go, and ſpeake vnto the houſe of Iſraél.
.So I opened my mouth, and he gaue me this rolle to eat.
.And he ſaid vnto me, Sonne of man, cauſe thy belly to eat, and fil thy bowels with this rolle that I giue thee. The did I eat it, and it was in my mouth as ſwete as honie.
.And he ſaid vnto me, Sonne of man, go, & entre into the houſe of Iſraél, and declare theṃ my wordes.
.For thou art not ſent to a people of an vnknowe tongue, or of an hard language, but to the houſe of Iſraél,
.Not to manie people of an vnknowẽ tógue, or of an hard language, whoſe wordes thou canſt not vnderſtand: yet if I ſhulde ſend thee to them, they wolde obey thee.
.But the houſe of Iſraél wil not obey thee: for they wil not obey me: yea, all the houſe of Iſraél are impudent and ſtif hearted.
.Beholde, I haue made thy face ſtrong againſt their faces, and thy forehead hard againſt their foreheads.
.I haue made thy forehead as the adamãt, & harder then the flint: feare them not therefore, nether be afraid at their lokes: for they are a rebellious houſe.
.He ſaid moreouer vnto me, Sonne of man, receiue in thine heart all my wordes that I ſpeake vnto thee, and heare them with thine eares,
.And go & entre to them that are led away captiues vnto the children of thy people, and ſpeake vnto them, and tel them, Thus ſaith the Lord God: but ſurely they wil not heare, nether wil thei in dede ceaſe.
.Then the Spirit toke me vp, and I heard behinde me a noyſe of a great ruſſhing, ſaying, Bleſſed be the glorie of the Lord out of his place.
.I heard alſo the noyſe of the wings of the beaſts, that touched one another, and the ratling of the wheles that were by them, euen a noyſe of a great ruſſhing.
.So the Spirit lift me vp, & toke me away and I went in bitternes, & indignation of my ſpirit, but the hãd of the Lord was ſtrong vpon me.
.Thẽ I came to them that were led away captiues to Tel-ábib, that dwelt by the riuer Chebár, and I ſate where they ſate, and remained there aſtoniſhed amõg thẽ ſeuen dayes.
.And at the end of ſeuen dayes, the worde of the Lord came againe vnto me, ſaying,
.Sonne of man, I haue made thee a watchman vnto the houſe of Iſraél: therefore heare the worde at my mouth, and giue thẽ warning from me.
.When I ſhal ſay vnto the wicked, Thou ſhalt ſurely dye, and thou giueſt not him warning, nor ſpeakeſt to admoniſh the wicked of his wicked way, that he may liue, the ſame wicked man ſhal dye in his iniquitie: but his blood wil I require at thine hand.
.Yet if thou warne the wicked, & he turne not from his wickednes, nor from his wicked way, he ſhal dye in his iniquitie, but thou haſt deliuered thy ſoule.
.Likewiſe if a righteous man turne frõ his righteouſnes, and commit iniquitie, I wil lay a kſtumbling blocke before him, and he ſhal dye, becauſe thou haſt not giuen him warning: he ſhal dye in his ſinne, and his righteous dedes, which he hathe done, ſhal not be remébred: but his blood wil I require at thine hand.
.Neuertheles, if thou admoniſh that righteous man, that the righteous ſinne not, and that he doeth not ſinne, he ſhal liue becauſe he is admoniſhed: alſo thou haſt deliuered thy ſoule.
.And the hand of the Lord was there vpon me, and he ſaid vnto me, Ariſe, & go into the field, and I wil there talke with thee.
.So when I had riſen vp, and gone forthe into the field, beholde, the glorie of the Lord ſtode there, as ye glorie which I ſawe by the riuer Chebár, and I fel downe vpon my face.
.Then the Spirit entred into me, which ſet me vp vpon my fete, and ſpake vnto me, and ſaid to me, Come, & ſhut thy ſelf within thine houſe.
.But thou, ô ſonne of man, beholde, they ſhal put bandes vpon thee, and ſhal binde thee with them, and thou ſhalt not go out among them.
.And I wil make thy tongue cleaue to the roofe of thy mouth, that thou ſhalt be dumme, and ſhalt not be to them as a man that rebuketh: for they are a rebellious houſe.
.But when I ſhal haue ſpoken vnto thee, I wil open thy mouth, and thou ſhalt ſay vnto them, Thus ſaith the Lord God, He that heareth, let him heare, and he that leaueth of, let him leaue: for they are a rebellious houſe.
