Psalms 64

1 David praieth against the furie & false reports of his enemies. 7 He declareth their punishment & destruction, 10 To the comfort of the just and the glorie of God.
¶ To him that excelleth, A Psalme of David.
1.Hear my avoice, ô God, in my praier: preserve my life from fear of the enemie.
2.Hide me from the bconspiracie of the wicked, and from the crage of the workers of iniquitie.
3.Which have whet their tongue like a sword, and shot for their arrows dbitter words:
4.To shoot at the upright in secret: they shoot at him suddenly, and efear not.
5.They fencourage them selves in a wicked purpose: they commune together to laie snares prively, and say, Who shall see them?
6.They have sought out iniquities, and have accomplished that which they sought out, even every one ghis secret thoughts, and the depth of his heart.
7.But God will shoot an arrow at them suddenly: their strokes shal be
8.They shal cause their own tongue to fall upon them: and whosoever shal se them, shal hflee awaie.
9.And all men shal se it, and declare the work of God, and they shal understand, what he hath wroght.
10.But the righteous ishal be glad in the Lord, and trust in him: and all that are upright of heart, shal rejoyce.

In that he calls to God with his voice, it is a sign that his prayer was vehement, and that his life was in danger.

That is, from their secret malice.

To wit, their outward violence.

False reports and slanders.
4-e.
To be without fear of God and reverence of man, is a sign of reprobation.
5-f.
The more the wicked see God’s children in misery, the more bold, and impudent are they in oppressing them.
6-g.
There is no way so secret and subtly to do hurt, which they invented not for his destruction.
8-h.
To see God’s heavy judgments against them, and how he has caught them in their own snares.
10-i.
When they shall consider that he will be favourable to them, as he was to his servant David.
