Psalms 52

1 David describeth the arrogant tyrannie of his adversarie Doeg, who by false surmises caused Ahimélech with the rest of the Priests to be slayne 5 David prophecieth his destruction, 6 And incourageth the faithful to put their confidence in God, whose judgements are most sharp against his adversaries, 9 And finally he rendreth thanks to God for his deliverance. In this Psalme is lively set forth the kingdom of Antichrist.
To him that excelleth, A Psalme of David to give instruction. When Doeg the Edomite came and shewed Saúl, and said to him, David is come to the house of Ahimélech.
1.Why boastest thou thy self in thy wickedness, ô aman of power, the loving kindness of God endureth daily.
2.Thy tongue imagineth bmischief, and is like a sharp razor, that cutteth deceitfully.
3.Thou doest love evil more then good, and lies, more then to speak the ^truth. Sélah.
4.Thou lovest all words that may destroy, ô deceitful tongue!
5.So shal God cdestroy thee for ever: he shal take thee and pluck thee out of thy tabernacle, and droot thee out of the land of the living. Sélah.
6.The erighteous also shal see it, fand fear, and shal laugh at him,
7.Behold the man that took not God for his strength, but trusted unto the multitude of his riches, and put his strength ^in his malice.
8.But I shalbe like a ggreen olive tre in the house of God: for I trusted in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
9.I wil always praise thee, for that thou hast done hthis, and I wil ^hope in thy Name, because it is good before thy Saints.
