1 A song of triumph or thanksgiving for the deliverance of Jerusalém, after Sennaheríb with his armie was driven awaie, or some other like sudden and marvelous deliverance by the mightie hand of God. 8 Whereby the Prophet commending this great benefit, doeth exhort the faithful to give them selves wholly into the hand of God, douting nothing but that under his protection they shal be safe against all the assaults of their enemies, because this is his delite to asswage the rage of the wicked, when they are most busie against the just.
