Psalms 21

David in the person of the people praiseth God for the victory, attributing it to God, and not to the strength of man. Wherein the holie Gost directeth the faithful to Christ, who is the perfection of this kingdom.
To him that excelleth. A Psalme of David.
.The King shal arejoyce in thy strength, ô Lord: yea, how greatly shal he rejoyce in thy salvation!
.Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not denied him the request of his lips. Seláh.
.For thou bdidest prevent him with liberal blessings, and didest set a crown of pure gold upon his head.
.cHe asked life of thee, and thou gavest him a long life for ever and ever.
.His glory is great in thy salvation: dignity and honour hast thou layed upon him.
.For thou hast set him as dblessings for ever: thou hast made him glad with the joy of thy countenance.
.Because the King trusteth in the Lord, and in the mercie of the most High, he shal not slide.
.eThine hand shal find out all thine enemies, and thy right hand shal find out them that hate thee.
.Thou shalt make them like a fyrie oven in time of thine anger: the Lord shal destroy them in his fwrath, and the fire shal devour them.
.Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from the children of men.
.For they gintended evil against thee, and imagined mischief, but they shal not prevail.
.Therefore shalt thou put them hapart, and the strings of thy bow shalt thou make ready against their faces.
.iBe thou exalted, ô Lord, in thy strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.
