1. 9 The Quene of Shebá cometh to ſe Salomón & bringeth giftes. 13 His yerely reuenues. 30 The time of his reigne. 31 His death.
1.ANd when the Quene of Shebá heard of the fame of Salomón, ſhe came to proue Salomón with harde queſtions at Ieruſalém, with a verie great traine, and camels that bare ſwete odours and muche golde, and precious ſtones: and when ſhe came to Salomón, ſhe cõmuned with him of all that was in her heart.
2.And Salomón declared her all her queſtions, and there was nothing hid from Salomón, which he declared not vnto her.
3.Then the Quene of Shebá ſawe the wiſdome of Salomón, and the houſe that he had buylt,
4.And the meat of his table, and the ſitting of his ſeruants, and the ordre of his wayters, and their apparel, and his butlers, and their apparel, and his burnt offrings, which he offred in the houſe of the Lord, and ſhe was greatly aſtonied.
5.And ſhe ſaid to the King, It was a true worde which I heard in mine owne land of thy ſayings, and of thy wiſdome:
6.Howbeit I beleued not their reporte, vntil I came, and mine eyes had ſene it: and beholde, the one halfe of thy great wiſdome was not tolde me: for thou excedeſt the fame that I heard.
7.Happie are thy men, and happie are theſe thy ſeruants, which ſtande before thee all way, and heare thy wiſdome.
8.Bleſſed be ye Lord thy God, which loued thee, to ſet thee on his throne as King, in the ſtead of the Lord thy God: becauſe thy God loueth Iſraél, to eſtabliſh it for euer, therefore hathe he made thee King ouer them, to execute iudgemẽt & iuſtice.
9.Then ſhe gaue the King ſix ſcore talents of golde, and of ſwete odours exceding muche and precious ſtones: nether was there ſuche ſwete odours ſince, as the Quene of Shebá gaue vnto King Salomón.
10.And the ſeruants alſo of Hurám, and the ſeruants of Salomón which broght golde from Ophír, broght dAlgumím wood & precious ſtones.
11.And the King made of the Algumím wood ſtayres in the houſe of the Lord, & in the Kings houſe, and harpes and violes for fingers: and there was no ſuche ſene before in the land of Iudáh.
12.And King Salomón gaue to the Quene of Shebá euerie pleaſant thing that ſhe aſked, beſides for that which ſhe had broght vnto the King: ſo ſhe returned and went to her owne countrey, bothe ſhe, and her ſeruants.
13.¶ Alſo the weight of golde that came to Salomón in one yere, was ſix hũdreth thre ſcore and ſix talents of golde,
14.Beſides that which chapmen and marchants broght: and all the Kings of Arabia, & the princes of the countrey broght golde and ſiluer to Salomón.
15.And King Salomón made two hundreth targats of beaten golde, ſix hundreth ſhekels of beaten golde went to one targat,
16.And thre hundreth ſhields of beaten golde: thre hũdreth ſhekels of golde went to one ſhield, and the King put them in the houſe of the wood of Lebanón.
17.And the King made a great throne of yuorie and ouerlaied it with pure golde.
18.And the throne had ſix ſteppes, with a footetoole of golde faſtened to the throne, and ſtayes on ether ſide on the place of the ſeate, and two lions ſtanding by the ſtayes.
19.And twelue lions ſtode there on the ſix ſteppes on ether ſide: there was not the like made in anie kingdome.
20.And all King Salomós drinking veſſels were of golde, and all the veſſels of the houſe of the wood of Lebanón were of pure golde: for ſiluer was nothing eſtemed in the dayes of Salomón.
21.For the Kings ſhippes went to Tarſhiſh with the ſeruants of Hurám, euerie thre yerè once came the ſhippes of Tarſhiſh, and broght golde, and ſiluer, yuorie, and apes, and pecockes.
22.So King Salomón excelled all ye Kings of the earth in riches and wiſdome.
23.And all the Kings of the earth ſoght the preſence of Salomón, to heare his wiſdome that God had put in his heart.
24.And they broght euerie man his preſent, veſſels of ſiluer, and veſſels of golde, and raiment, armour, & ſwete odours, horſes, and mules, from yere to yere.
25.And Salomón had foure thouſand ſtalles of horſes, and charets, and twelue thouſand horſemen, whome he beſtowed in the charet cities, and with the King at Ieruſalém.
26.And he reigned ouer all the Kings from the Riuer euen vnto the land of the Philiſtims, and to the border of Egypt.
27.And the King gaue ſiluer in Ieruſalém, as ſtones, & gaue cedre trees as the wilde fig trees, that are abundant in the plaine.
28.And they broght vnto Salomón horſes out of Egypt, and out of all lands.
29.Cõcerning the reſt of the actes of Salomón firſt & laſt, are they not writen in the boke of Nathán the Prophet, and in the prophecie of Ahuáh the Shilonite, and in the viſions of Icedó the Seer againſt Ieroboám the ſonne of Nebát?
30.And Salomón reigned in Ieruſalém ouer all Iſraél fourty yeres.
31.And Salomón ſlept with his fathers, & they buryed him in the citie of Dauid his father: and Rehoboám his ſonne reigned in his ſteade.
