Genesis 9

The confirmaciõ of mariage 3 Permiſſiõ of meates 6 The power of the ſworde. 14 The rainebowe is the ſigne of Gods promes 21 Noáh is drunken & mocked of his ſonne, whome he curſeth. 29 The age & death of Noáh.
.ANd God a bleſſed Noáh & his ſones, and ſaid to them, Bring forthe frute, and multiplie, and repleniſh the earth,
.Alſo the b feare of you, and the dread of you ſhalbe vpon euerie beaſt of the earth, and vpon euerie foule of the heauen, vpon all that moueth on the earth, & vpõ all the fiſhes of the ſea: into your hand are they deliuered.
.Euerie c thing that moueth & liueth, ſhalbe meat for you: as ye * grene herbe, haue I giuen you all things.
.* d But fleſh with the life thereof, I meane, with the blood thereof, ſhal ye not eat.
.e For ſurely I wil require your blood, wherein your liues are: at the hand of euerie beaſt wil I require it: and at the hand of man, euen at the hand of a mãs brother wil I require the life of man.
.Whoſo * ſhedeth mans blood, f by man ſhal his blood be ſhed: for in the g image of God hathe he made man.
.But bring ye forthe frute and multiplie: growe plẽtifully in the earth, and increaſe therein.
.¶ God ſpake alſo to Noáh & to his ſonnes with him, ſaying,
.Beholde, I, euen I eſtabliſh my h couenãt with you, and with your ſede after you,
.And with euerie liuing creature that is with you, with the foule, with the cattel, & with euerie beaſt of the earth with you, from all that go out of the Arke, vnto euerie beaſt of the earth.
.* And my i couenant wil I eſtabliſh with you, that from henceforth all fleſh ſhal not be rooted out by the waters of the flood, nether ſhal there be a flood to deſtroy the earth any more.
.Then God ſaid, This is the token of the couenant which I make betwene me and you, & betwene euerie liuing thing, that is with you vnto perpetual generacions.
.I haue ſet my k bowe in the cloude, and it ſhalbe for a ſigne of the couenãt betwene me and the earth.
.And when * I ſhal couer the earth with a cloude, and the bowe ſhal be ſene in the cloude,
.Then wil I remẽber my l couenãt, which is betwene me and you, & betwene euerie liuing thing in all fleſh, & there ſhalbe no more waters of a flood to deſtroy all fleſh.
.Therefore ye bowe ſhalbe in the cloude, & I may ſe it, & m remember the euerlaſting couenant betwene God, and euerie liuing thing in all fleſh that is vpon the earth.
.God ſaid yet to Noáh, This is the ſigne of the couenant, which I haue eſtabliſhed betwene me and all fleſh that is vpon the earth.
.¶ Now the ſonnes of Noáh going forthe of the Arke, were Shem & Ham & Iapheth. And Ham is the father of Canáan.
.Theſe are the thre ſonnes of Noáh, and of them was the n whole earth ouerſpred.
.¶ Noáh alſo " began to be an houſband mã and planted a vineyarde.
.And he drõke of ye wine & was p dronkẽ, & was vncouered in ye middes of his tent.
.And when Ham the father of Canáan ſawe the nakednes of his father, q he tolde his two brethren without.
.Then toke Shem and Iapheth a garmẽt, and and put it vpon bothe their shulders and wēt backward, and couered the nakednes of their father with their faces back-warde: ſo thei ſawe not their fathers nakednēs.
.Then Nóah awoke from his wine, and knewe what his yonger ſonne had done vnto him,
.And ſaid, Curſed be Canáan: a r ſeruant of ſeruantes ſhal he be vnto his brethren.
.He ſaid moreouer, Bleſſed be the Lord God of Shem, and let Canáan be his ſeruant.
.God " s perſuade Iápheth, that he may dwel in the tentes of Shem, and let Canáan be his ſeruant.
.¶ And Nóah liued after ye flood thre hūdreth and fifty yeres.
.So all the dayes of Nóah were nine hūdreth and fifty yeres: and he dyed.
